This Yunnan black tea is distinctive in appearance as in taste. The long golden leaves measuring over an inch in length brew into a deep, rich, sweet, and very smooth cup of tea with lots of chocolate and date notes. Grown at high elevation in the Fengging region.

One of China's most famous varieties of green tea, Bi Lo Chun (Green Snail) is the earliest harvest of green tea, plucking only the first bud of the plant. The flavor is light and sweet with a floral finish, tasting like the bright spring day that it was produced.

One of China's most famous teas, this Mao Feng offers stripe-rolled dark green leaves full of juicy flavor. An excellent choice for an everyday wakeup call.

Hojicha is made from the roasted twigs of the tea plant. It is almost entirely caffeine free and makes an excellent toasty, robust cup of tea any time of the day.

Similar to Gyokuro but grown with less depth of shade and for a shorter period. Flavor is clear and distinctively sweet with umami character. Delicious and demonstrates clearly how Kabusecha is distinctively different from Sencha and Gyokuro.

A vibrant blend of stems, stalks, and twigs of Japanese green tea. This high-grade non-oxidized version is both creamy in mouthfeel and deliciously rich in flavor. Sweet and grassy, with a distinct note of seaweed.

The flavor of this Tieguanyin is slightly subtler than its Monkey Picked counterpart. The flavor is lighter, sweeter, and longer lasting.

From the ChaoZhou area of Guandong China, this tea grows on tall tea trees and is hand harvested and processed by hand as well. This tea opens with fruity notes of peach and longan fruit, then ends with a distinctive hop finish. Great choice for Gongfu pots/cup preparation.

Tieguanyin (Iron Goddess of Mercy) is the most famous tightly rolled pellet oolong in China, and is unparalleled for its floral aroma and smooth finish.

Medium roasted tea. One of the four famous teas of the Wuyi mountains. Strong dark chocolate, smokiness and slight floral aftertaste.

This years Alishan displays all the characteristics that one should look for in a good Alishan tea; heady floral fragrance and flavor, a nice medium body and sweet lingering finish. A very good value for a high Alishan tea.

This tea is provided to us from the same Lishan farmer we have been working with for the last 10 years. His farm is one of the highest elevation farms in Lishan. This batch of tea is his very first harvest and shows with its light floral notes and creamy aftertaste.

Shan Lin Xi's are always such a special treat in the line up of Taiwanese oolongs. They are a little bit of everything. This high mountain tea has the creaminess of a Jinxuan, the heady floral of an Alishan and the depth & fruitiness of a good Lishan. Apricot, roses and cherries.

Smooth but with an interesting complexity for such an old tea. There are hints of nuttiness, roast & sweetness. A bit of honey and just enough astringency to help the flavors linger. The Chai Qi (tea energy) effect is immediate. Rivals some of the best-aged puerhs.

This is a highly satisfying Baozhong. Richer than its' spring version, with a depth that resembles umami in character and a wonderful long lingering of warm floral notes. Not cloying and very well balanced in taste, texture and fragrance.

A very special oolong from the Son La region of Vietnam. This tea was mid roasted to help bring out its distinct fruity flavors and floral aroma. Apricot, plum, and pineapple are some of the notes that we found in this tea.

A truly rare treat! This tea has been aged for 10 years and then roasted in the traditional methods of charcoal roasting masters. The finished tea is satisfying and delicious, showcasing all the complex nuances we love about roasted, aged teas.

This tea comes from the San Lin Xi region of central Taiwan. The teas of that area are known to be floral, sweet, and creamy in texture. This tea serves up all of those in spades. Lovers of high mountain oolong will find this one to be a very satisfying tea and it is not too be missed.

A truly unique Dan Cong tea, from the ChaoZhou area of Guandong China, this tea grows on tall tea trees and is hand harvested on ladders and then processed by hand as well. The strong sweet white peach is easily detectable and highly enjoyable. A must try for Dan Cong and roasted tea lovers.

A mid oxidized, unblended tea that is surprisingly floral for a Darjeeling oolong. The taste is subtle but you can't miss the soft and smooth mouthfeel followed by a distinct flowery character, almost like a Jasmine tea.

2005 Imperial Puerh blended with our own Golden Chrysanthemum blossoms. This is a high quality version of a popular blend that is commonly drunk in China for its benefit of cooling internal heat, according to Chinese medicine. 25 August 2024Amazing experience! The cafe itself was so cute and cozy. Very green and clean. The vibes are great for a date for casual days or study days. Sweet staff that were open to answering any tea questions we had. Matcha was delicious on their menu. I recommend the matcha latte with honey lavender sweetener. Would definitely come back to try new items or even reorder the matcha again. :)

25 July 2024On a rainy drinking some of their brewed tea is the ultimate comfort. the options are endless here from the different teas you can have them brew for you. The person who worked there helped us narrow down which tea. It's a great place to work from as well with their clean modern aesthetic and good wifi. It can be crowded on weekends to grab a seat but you can always grab something to go!

21 July 2024Miro Tea is an aesthetically pleasing tea shop in Ballard that I've visited a couple of times with my boyfriend to try their drinks. They have a big selection of teas, and they even let you sample four different kinds. They also have seasonal drinks that I keep an eye out for. The space is quite large with lots of tables. I love the rotating artwork on the walls and the overall atmosphere. This time, I went with one of my friends to chat and work. It was pretty chilly inside--surprisingly so, to the point where I wanted to wear a hoodie. I think that was the only significant downside I noticed. The service was nice and seems like they know what they're doing. Here's what I've tried: - Matcha Soda - All Nighter - Rose Ambrosia (Matcha latte with rose jelly) - Summer Velvet - Pink Chai The drinks are decent, and I'd rate most of them 4/5. If you're looking for tea shops with a nice atmosphere, be sure to check them out in Ballard!
